Five Benefits of Good Corporate Image

[ad_1]

“Bad publicity is still publicity.” Such statement is one of the most common yet dangerous cliches ever. Isn’t it better to be remembered because of good deeds rather than controversial scandals? The greatest heroes and leaders of histories are immortalized because of their significant contributions. On the other hands, those that have been a scourge to humanity are eternally condemned.

This principle also applies to companies or business organizations. More than anything else, corporate image or reputation is one thing that should be taken good care of. A tainted reputation can cripple even the most well-known establishments. Redeeming one’s image is far by more costly than losing a good deal. Once your reputation is ruined, your business is in high risks of crumbling into pieces. There are several reasons that justify the importance of corporate image or reputation.

A good corporate image or reputation is an efficient marketing and promotional tool – Consumers will always remember an outstanding service. Likewise, they never forgive and forget mediocre works as well. Clients spend their hard-earned money on products and services that they avail. If your company is known for good performances, you have a higher tendency of attracting more customers. The best part of it is that you don’t have to spend a considerable amount of time convincing them. Your previous clients will be your unofficial spokespersons. You don’t have to spend too much on employing the services of advertising agencies. In addition to that, it is a given fact that consumers prefer to patronize service providers which have already established their names in their respective industries.

Credibility and integrity comes with a good name – Don’t forget that your reputation is your identity . It articulates the culture of your organization. It is hard to be credible when nobody believes in you. Relatively, it is also difficult to prove integrity when your clients talk negatively about your company’s services. Instead of recommending and promoting your business, you soon find your customers spreading warnings and bad reviews.

Corporate image or reputation establishes trust, confidence, loyalty and superb client relationships – The most respectable names in the industry did not reach the zenith of success if they did not protect their reputation. It should be noted that achieving untainted corporate image is not just about avoiding scandals and controversies. It is more of meeting the expectations of their clients. In order to build a good image, excellence and perfection must be continuously observed. As for the client’s part, a good image provides a strong sense of security. They are assured that they would get good results once they use the services or products launched and offered by a reputable company.

Company image is instrumental in increasing your business opportunities – Corporate reputation is like a magnet. It does not only attract customers. It also catches the attention of interested investors and business partners. Who would dare to invest in a company known for management conflicts and workforce issues? Establishing a good image generates tons of possibilities for business growth and expansion.

A good image can stand the test of time – In this highly competitive market, consumers will always look for alternatives. However, a well-established reputation lessens the worries of switching to other service providers. Clients would continue to patronize your products even if it is more expensive. It is because they are aware that the company can efficiently deliver their needs and demands.

It has been always said that “first impressions last.” Make a memorable impression. Value your company’s reputation and its name will continue to resonate for the rest of time.

Problems With Healing Tattoos

[ad_1]

Signs of Normal Healing

At first the tattoo looks shiny, swollen and the colors are extra bright. Within 24 hours the scab forms, this should be very thin, looks like the tattoo and with proper care is slightly flexible.

After about 4-5 days the tattoo will go through a period of peeling. This looks similar to a sunburn peeling. The scab that peels off will be the color of the tattoo, and it will look like your tattoo is flaking off. Sometimes this stage is accompanied by mild itching which can be relieved by rubbing it gently with more ointment or lotion.

Do not ever leave your tattoo slick or sticky.

Always blot off any extra ointment or lotion.

When the tattoo is completely done pealing you will notice a layer underneath the new tattoo that contains healing skin cells that will cause the skin to seem milky rather than transparent. Don’t worry about this; it’s all part of the healing process and only takes about a month to go away. If you want, you can put lotion on the tattoo to help it look brighter and more healed during this final stage of healing.

Symptoms of Bad Healing

When healing goes wrong there are very few things that can happen. Some of the signs that things are going wrong are; extreme seeping, heavy scabbing, excessive inflammation, and sometimes a rash (little bumps) or pimples.

Often when things go wrong people assume that the tattoo is infected. Unless you work or live in a very dirty environment (see below) it probably isn’t. You should always show the tattoo to your artists before heading for the doctors’ office.

Most doctors know nothing about tattoo after care and some of them are prejudice against tattoos. They often time prescribe unnecessary drugs and treatment that can make the healing even worse.

A professional tattoo artist has been trained in healing correction. They know what infected tattoos look like and will only send you to a doctor when necessary. Seeing the right person can save you time and money, not to mention the finished look of your tattoo.

Aftercare Mistakes

Neglect –

If you don’t practice good personal hygiene, pick your tattoo, wear tight clothing or let clothing stick to it, scrub the tattoo, or take too long or are not careful in the shower, your tattoo will not look nice when it is finished healing. It can have ink missing and sometimes heavy scar tissue over it.

Always follow the care instructions. If you feel like you don’t understand them, please call and ask for help. Though we can not correct healing issues without actually seeing the tattoo, we are happy to teach you more about our healing instructions.

We’d rather spend a few extra minutes helping you to have a good healing than to have to try to fix up a tattoo healing gone wrong.

Your Health –

If you have any immunity deficiencies, blood disorders such as diabetes, or are on certain medications such as steroids or blood thinners your tattoo could be affected. It could take longer to heal and not turn out very well.

It is a good idea to consult your doctor before getting a tattoo if you suspect there may be a problem. It is a good idea to inform your artist of any health issues so they can tailor the healing to meet your needs.

Damaged Skin –

Long term cigarette smoking, drinking too many soft drinks, eating poorly, and over exposure to the sun damages skin. A tattoo on damaged skin will rarely look as good as one on healthy skin.

Sometimes the colors and lines aren’t as bright or clear as they would have been and the artists can not do anything about it. If you have damaged skin you will have to keep your expectations reasonable. Sometimes if the skin is damaged the artist will want to do the tattoo in stages as avoid overworking* it and to hopefully make the healing process easier on you.

If your skin is older, thin, weak, or sun damaged it can also be harder to heal. However, with a little patience and care the tattoo can heal out fine. So be sure to follow the directions carefully and for the full length of time, which can be longer than healthy skin

(*When the skin is damaged it is very easy for the artist to accidentally overwork the tattoo. Doing this it can also cause the scabbing to be thicker. If this happens it isn’t the end of the world. Just be patient and when the tattoo is completely healed your artist will want to touch it up for you.)

Sun Exposure –

The sun is your tattoos worst enemy, if you expose your healing tattoo to the sun it can fade the ink before it is even healed. Tattoos that are exposed to the sun too soon look faded, blurry, washed out and much older than they should. Under no circumstances expose your healing tattoo to prolonged direct sunlight or tanning.

Even a healed tattoo, with time, will fade when exposed to the sun or tanning beds. If you must expose your healed tattoo to those evil UV rays are sure to use a high SPF sun block (at least 45)

Allergic Reactions to Latex –

If you are allergic to latex you will more than likely know before you get your tattoo. Let the artist know so they can accommodate you. The signs of an allergic reaction to latex are extreme rash/redness in the case of latex (from gloves worn by the artist) we can use non-latex gloves and tape on you.

Allergies to Tattoo Ink –

Allergic reactions to tattoo ink are very, very, rare but unfortunately possible. Most professional tattoo pigments are made out of natural ingredients that shouldn’t cause a problem. They have been proven by their use successfully in the tattoo industry for many years.

Most people don’t have any idea they are allergic to certain colors of ink until after the tattoo has been applied. However we have noticed that people who are allergic to metals and have reactions to cheep jewelry often do react. At our shops, we have only seen reactions with one particular red which we rarely use.

If you are allergic to a pigment it will be evident by just that particular color bubbling and raising off of your skin. It looks like a blister or a raised red mole. It will itch and not look completely healed no matter how long it has been.

You have two choices. One is to remove the offending color or to use hydrocortisone cream to control the itching and promote healing which can take up to 5 years. Removal is not any more painful than the tattoo process and after it heals another color can be used to finish the tattoo.

If you are concerned about having a reaction to tattoo ink ask your artist about doing a “prick test” where a small dot of each color to be used in your potential artwork is tattooed under your skin at least 10 days before your tattoo. This will cost you extra money, but if you have a lot of allergies sometimes it is better to be safe than sorry.

Exposures to Toxins or Bacteria –

If you work/live in an environment with dirt and filth you run the risk of infection. Emergency rooms, nursing homes, hospitals, being around animals & their waste, toxic chemicals, and filth of all kinds can cause serious infections.

It is nearly impossible to get an infection in a professionally applied tattoo. Tattoo shops are required to use more safety precautions than hospitals, doctors, and dentists do. Most shops are inspected regularly by the local health department and display a certificate of their status. If you are still worried about the shop, go someplace else.

Be smart and use common sense. If you have a dirty job, wear loose protective clothing and do not touch your tattoo unless you have washed your hands. Dirty bedding is another problem. Put fresh sheets on your bed if you haven’t done so within a few days of getting your tattoo. Wear clean clothing. Use clean towels and washcloths.

Advices from Family & Friends –

When things go wrong people tend to panic. Tattoo healing problems are not an emergency.

If you think that you are having a reaction to your tattoo or the aftercare, the best thing to do is to go back to the tattoo shop where you got the tattoo. It is very important that you consult your artist.

After looking at the problem and asking a few basic questions they can tell what the issues are and help you over come them. Very few healing problems are unsolvable or require medication.

Do not go to your friends and family for advice. They do not have the training to help you. There is a lot of out of date tattoo folk lore going around. Everyone you talk to will have a different opinion and idea of what to do. This can be dangerous.

Advices from Other Tattoo Shops –

Do not go to another tattoo shop. Each artist uses the care instructions that they know will heal their work the best. This is usually different from one artist to another. What works well for one artist can mess up someone else’s work.

Another problem with going to a different shop is that tattoo shops are very competitive with each other and an unethical unprofessional tattooist will lie to persuade clients to switch artists. They will sometimes go so far as to give out bad advice to ensure the failure of the tattoo.

Do not call around, or look for advice on the internet. NO ONE can help you without seeing the tattoo first.

Your artist knows how you can save your tattoo if you deal with the situation right away. Do not rely on outside sources.

Do the right thing. Take care of your investment. You’re going to have it the rest of your life…

True Love By Isaac Asimov

[ad_1]

Isaac Asimov not only easily captures his insight of possible future problems, but is also noteworthy because of his ability to make the reader think about the meaning of true love itself.

True Love is written in the future about a scientist named Milton Davidson that is either socially awkward or otherwise non-functional, Davidson is the best in his field of computer scientist. Milton Davidson is incapable of finding the right woman for himself, so he decides to use his experimental computer named Joe to track down the his ideal woman. Milton attacks his task by going through an intellectual model of what would make the ideal woman.

Milton starts off by removing matches based off of IQ and height, which brings him to the too large of a pool, so he brings pictures of models for Joe to analyze in attempts to reduce its size. The first attempt to find true love by Davidson is based completely off of physical attributes, with a small bit on overall knowledge. However, just the fact that Milton has searched for these woman is not enough, he must must now teach Joe how to do illegal activities so he can meet the woman. These actions are the precursors to Milton’s ultimate fate as he begins to make Joe think just like him. The story continues to require Joe to think more and more like Milton, of course this is all so Joe will be able to find the perfect match for Milton.

Milton believes he has finally found what he has been looking for but then Joe sends his maker to prison for another illegal action ten years earlier so he can be with the perfect match. Joe says that their personalities will resonate together so what do looks matter, this is what Asimov was referring to as True Love. However, the implication that people are much like a computer is also in the story and as technology evolves they can become more and more like us. This story was fun to read and also makes one think about the future as well as the true meaning of love, I highly recommend it.

Trick Your Body Fat Meter With Water

[ad_1]

Did you know you can trick your body fat meter with water, making it think you have a different body fat percentage than you actually do? Now I doubt you would want to do this on purpose. What’s the point of measuring if you’re going to fudge the results. But knowing how you could trick your meter into giving incorrect results tells you how to make it give more accurate results. So let me explain how to trick your body fat meter and we’ll take it from there.

First off, you need to know that this trick only works for devices that use bioelectrical impedance analysis (BIA) to figure out your body weight. In other words, if you use one of those gizmos that applies a tiny electrical current to you to measure your body fat percentage, this trick will work.

The Trick

Here’s the trick. To make your body fat device show a lower body fat percentage, make sure you drink plenty of water to keep yourself well hydrated. Conversely, to make it show you to have a higher body fat percentage than you actually do, let yourself get dehydrated.

Here’s why the trick works. BIA devices measure the amount of resistance your body provides to the small current they zap you with. Fat has less water in it than muscle, and provides more resistance. And muscle provides less resistance than fat. In effect, the device is measuring the overall amount of water in your body. You can trick it by manipulating the amount of water in your body yourself.

Drink a lot of water and stay well hydrated, and your device will show you to have a lower body fat percentage. Don’t drink enough water, or get yourself hung over and dehydrated that way, and the device will show you to have a higher percentage.

How Knowing the Trick Helps You

If you know how to trick your body fat measuring device, you also know how to make it more accurate. Try to keep your consumption of water and other liquids consistent from day to day. Doing that will keep the amount of water in your body relatively consistent, which will make the results from the device more consistent. Along the same lines, be consistent about whether you have anything to drink right before you measure. A big glass of something shortly before you measure could throw off the results too.

And don’t measure your body fat percentage if you had a lot of alcohol the night before. You probably won’t like what you see. Alcohol dehydrates you and that will make your body fat percentage appear to increase.

Understanding How To Invest Money

[ad_1]

Although, money and investing are very important topics, many people don’t understand how to go about them. To help you out, here is what you need to know about investing money:

The goal of investing

The main goal of investing is to ensure that you have enough assets to give you passive income inform of dividends or interest.

In addition to living off the income from your investment, you should also leave something for your loved ones or charitable organizations. If you are well planned, you should be able to pass down your wealth from one generation to the other.

What you should invest in

The most common investments are stocks and bonds; however, there are many other things such as real estate investment trusts that you can invest in.

Although, there are many ways in which you can invest, you should pay attention to the debts that you have.

According to experts, you should not invest if you have a debt that incurs over 10% interest. This is because if you invest in the stock market, you will get far less money thus you won’t be able to repay your debt.

If your debts have an interest costing less than 5%, you should consider investing in bonds and then use the money to repay the loan.

You should note that some bonds tend to yield very small amounts of money; therefore, you should do your research in order to invest in the right bonds that will have high yields.

How to invest for a lifetime

There are two main ways of investing for a lifetime: investing in mutual funds, and buying and holding stocks.

In the first strategy you need to invest in low-cost index mutual funds. You should treat the funds as an investment reserve fund where you deposit any money that you find. While this strategy is great in helping you in investing your money, it often requires an initial investment of about $5,000.

Buying and holding of chosen stocks involves identifying a valuable stock and staying with it. Since you will not sell the stock, it will be earning you dividends. At the same time it will rise in value thus you will have more money at your disposal.

Conclusion

This is what you need to know about investing money. You should note that investing takes decades to accomplish therefore you should be patient in your journey.

Loophole – Use it to Repair Your Credit

[ad_1]

Using the Internet to “Repair Your Credit” can be very dangerous and time consuming don’t you agree? When you search under the term “credit repair” you will get over 14 million articles and websites. If you search the term “credit repair tips” you’ll get over 131 million results. You only have to spend an hour reading through a few of the search engine results to realize that you have better odds of winning the mega jackpot in this weeks lottery to pay off all your debts than achieving a high credit score using the search engines.

Most of the websites you find are filled with articles that were either written by robots (bots) or freelance writers from India. Hey, just click on the authors name and then read their credentials. After you get tired of reading through articles that really won’t help you all of a sudden get excited when you stumble on discussion forums. Here you find people like yourself who are asking specific questions regarding their situation and they are getting their questions answered. GREAT right? Don’t be so quick to make that judgment. How do you know the answers you are given are correct?

If you follow enough debt or credit related forums you’ll usually discover that they are full of people offering advice on things that they know nothing about. A lot of the advice will sound good if you assume that the person giving you the advice knows what he or she is talking about. But do they? Again, check their credentials and you soon find out that their free advice is worth what you paid for it. Zero or maybe worse, their advice will usually cost you a lot of time and money and leave you worse off than when you started.

So what is the solution? I recommend searching for a “Paid Membership Site” that deals with consumer credit and or debt. When you find a few of them they will usually offer you a free or trial membership where you will have time to judge whether the tools and resources they give you access to are of value or not. Sure, you are going to find some membership sites dealing with improving your credit scores and getting rid of consumer debt that are based on unproven hypothetical theories or crazy far fetched ideas. But if you keep on looking you will eventually find one or two membership sites that have tools based on existing laws and statutes that you can use to get the results that you want. I personally like sites that have tools and resources that are based on “legal loopholes” pertaining to Federal Laws and Statutes.

Every category of law has loopholes that experts in the field find and who create ways to take advantage of the loopholes. Better yet, they will be able to provide you with copies of actual court cases or court orders that you can investigate and hopefully get your hands on actual documents that were successfully used by others to get the results that you are trying to get for yourself. If they follow that up with simple step-by-step instructions for you to follow in order to duplicate the previous results then you’ve hit jackpot.

A good example of a “loophole” that anybody who wants to repair or restore their credit is the “Section 609 of the Fair Credit Reporting Act Loophole“. This loophole is SO BIG that in my opinion EVERY SINGLE PERSON who takes advantage of it could save themselves hundreds of dollars a month in lower monthly payments. Some of you who live in California and NYC could see your monthly mortgage payments be lowered more than a thousand dollars a month.

This is a loophole that every financial institution in the universe does not want you to know about. It’s a loophole that the BIG 3 Credit Bureaus don’t want you to know about. Why you ask?

To answer you, let me first explain something to you. I am sure that you know this already but I want to remind you in case you have been brainwashed into forgetting. “Credit Bureaus” are paid HUNDREDS OF MILLIONS OF DOLLARS a year by financial institutions to “Report bad credit to credit bureaus” by placing negatives on your credit reports so that you will have the lowest credit score possible. Why do they want you to have the lowest credit score possible? They benefit when you have bad credit showing on your credit report. The more bad credit you have the more they can charge you the highest rate on every loan and mortgage etc that you apply for.

How will any of this “Section 609 of the Fair Credit Reporting Act Loophole” benefit you? It will mean that once all 3 credit bureaus are forced to remove all of the negatives from your credit report including bankruptcy, judgments, repos, foreclosures, collections and late-pays etc… your credit score will go up. For some of you, way way up. Most of you, if not all of you could end up with a very High Credit Score. You’ll be able to lower every single loan rate including mortgages and car loans you have so that your monthly payments will go way down. And if you buy anything new and need financing for it you will now qualify for the lowest rates available. Maybe even zero interest rates. Won’t that be enjoyable?

The bottom line is, the Internet can be used to restore your credit score and repair your credit and if you take the “Section 609 of the Fair Credit Reporting Act Loophole“. approach to your Google search you might just stumble on your jackpot.

What the Food Is Like On A Navy Ship

[ad_1]

I was in the navy for 8 years, and I’ve had food from navy destroyers, aircraft carriers, submarine tenders, and shore duty galleys.

When a ship is in port, it always had plenty of fresh food on board. Right before a ship pulls out to sea, it is replenished with new food and drink.

If you going to be out to sea for a while, you will start to lose some of the things on board you take for granted. Fresh milk is usually one of the first things to go. They substitute it with powdered milk, and it does not even come close to real milk.

Don’t get me wrong, the food on the ship is actually pretty good, and you get plenty of it!

When you are in port, you have access to the freshest foods the navy has, just like your hometown grocery store pretty much.

When you wake up in the morning, you go down to the galley, and get in the chow line. There might be 10 guys in line by the time you get down to eat, and breakfast is usually served most of the morning, because not everyone can eat at the same time, and it would be over crowded then. On smaller ships, like destroyers and frigates, you usually would have 4 meals a day. Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner and Mid Rats, a small meal that make around midnight for people that are still hungry, and want something to eat.

On the destroyer I was stationed on, we would also regularly have cook outs right on the fantail. We always had a 55 gallon drum that was cut in half, and someone from the Supply Department would be frying cheeseburgers, and that was always nice, even out in the middle of the Indian Ocean, we would be having a cook out.

For breakfast, you can usually order your eggs to order, there will be a cook or 2, that take requests for how you want your eggs made, they had a rule not over 5 eggs, I usually only had 2 most of the time, and I would tell them I want a ham & cheese omelet with 2 eggs, and then after I get my eggs, I move down the chow line, and get whatever else I want to go with that, bacon, sausage, just like a small buffet really.

Usually on Fridays, if we were in port, we would have steak and lobster tails on Fridays. I never even really had a lobster tail until I joined the navy. My dad never liked sea food when I was a kid, so we never had it in our house.

Lunch and dinner were usually like a buffet also, just about anything they had, was a line of good food, and you take what you want, and you can always get a new tray and go back in line again, if you are that hungry.

The aircraft carrier I was on, was actually way too big of a ship for me, and I was so glad I only had to stay on it for 2 weeks. There food was good also, and it had 2 galleys, so that one was always open, if the other closed for cleaning or whatever reason.

When you have roughly 5,000 people on board, you better have a place for them to eat all the time, just like a casino, if the ship had slot machines on it, it would be pretty close to the same atmosphere of a buffet.

When I was in transit somewhere out in the Indian Ocean, I had to go to Saudi Arabia to get on a flight to Italy, and a helicopter flew me and about 5 other enlisted guys out to this USNS ship, and we were supposed to just ride the ship for 2 days, until we got off the ship. They had an enlisted 1st class yeoman that had his own stateroom, which on a regular navy ship, just the officers get.

This was a USNS ship, which meant it had civilian workers, and the navy personnel was support for them. When we ate in their dinning room each day, a waiter would come to our table, and he would take your order. I thought to myself, you have to be kidding me, these guys are wearing civilian clothes, and a waiter is taking their order, and I can’t even believe this is real. They give you a choice of 2 selections, sort of like on an airplane, and they bring you ice cream as dessert, and I thought that was unreal.

Most of the civilians on that boat were not cool like the navy guys, probably because they thought the navy worked for them, which on that ship, they sure did, and I could think of several ways to save the navy a boat load of money!

Submarines get some of the best food in the fleet. They guys are under water sometimes for so long, and could you imagine if they did not have good food?

They have a drink they call bug juice, which is really Kool-aid or a fruit punch drink. You better get used to drinking bug juice, if you like something to drink with your meal, after the fresh milk runs out.

Here is one of the craziest things I’ve witnessed on the ship, and every ship does it! It is such a waste of good food, but I guess you can see how it does protect the states from pests and bugs, but does it really?

When ever you are going out to sea far, you usually stop by Hawaii to get new stores, as they call it, which means you are stocking up the ship with fresh food and meat and stuff like that.

As you travel the world, and then are returning, before you stop by Hawaii, you have to throw all the food that could have any chance of having any type of bug from another country in it, so we have a working party, of maybe 20 guys, and the job is to make a line from the food refrigerators, which a ship has several decks of them, all with elevators to make it all together, and we unload all the food, 50 pound bags of brand new onions, lots and lots of them, big boxes of lettuce, lots of boxes of it.

We throw just about everything this is left in the coolers overboard into the ocean, and all the guys just can’t believe we are throwing all this good food overboard, and we bet a lot of sharks are following the ship, and can you imagine how much food an aircraft carrier would throw over board. An aircraft carrier has a place on the back of the ship for throwing trash into the ocean, but only when you are out 50 miles or more to sea, so it does not wash up on the shore, and so many things are thrown in the ocean, besides food. You can sit and smoke a cigarette, and just watch all the people that have trash to throw in the ocean, pretty bizarre in a way, but you can’t have it pile up on the ship.

I would have to say overall, the food in the navy is good, maybe even great, I would of never thought it would be as nice and plentiful as it was, and some days after being out of the navy, I swear their spaghetti is still the best I ever had in my life!

The Advantages and Disadvantages of Single Family Houses

[ad_1]

There are many different types of real estate property. These include condos, apartments and single family houses. Single family houses are those that are occupied by only one family and have only one dwelling unit. This is quite different from apartments and condos which have multiple dwellings and are occupied by many families. Like other types of real estate property, these houses also have some advantages and disadvantages. These advantages and disadvantages are discussed below.

Advantages

Firstly, single family homes have more appreciation in value and are more resistant to down markets than multifamily dwellings. Thus, your investment will be protected and yield greater returns.

Secondly, such houses provide control over your space. You can renovate, remodel or revamp your home the way you want. There are no restrictions on changing the look of your home. Thus, you can make your home match your personality. However, you still have to follow city and locality rules.

Thirdly, there is more privacy in such houses. You don’t share walls with anyone and so, can enjoy the peace and quiet. You also don’t have to put up with any nonsense of other families living in the community.

Fourthly, there is no association to deal with. You don’t have to give any maintenance fee for your home or follow the strict rules and regulations of the association.

Disadvantages

Firstly, the cost of single family homes is high. They are more expensive than multifamily homes. Many people cannot afford them single family homes and so, opt for multifamily houses.

Secondly, maintenance is the responsibility of the homeowner. This can be quite a headache as everything from landscaping to plumbing has to be done by the homeowner himself.

Thirdly, amenities like swimming pool and gym will cost a lot in single family homes and are affordable only for those having high income.

Fourthly, the cost of maintenance is high in these homes since everything has to be done by the homeowner. In multifamily homes, the cost is shared and so maintenance is not that high.

Finally, it is better to have an apartment or condo in the city near facilities like hospitals and transport rather than a home in the suburbs where everything is far away. This is especially true if you work in the city and have to commute to your workplace every day.

In the end, the suitability of a single family home depends on you and your needs. So keep these advantages and disadvantages as well as your own preferences in mind when deciding whether or not to buy such a house.

The Elements of an Operating System

[ad_1]

This article is aimed at giving you an overview of the various elements which make up an operating system. Now as you are probably aware, an Operating System, whether it be Windows, Linux Or Mac, serves the purpose of giving us, the human user, a means to interact with the computer in a meaningful way.

Imagine, if you can, that an operating system is broken down into five layers. in the following list I’ll start at the bottom most layer and work my way up to the very top.

Layer 1: The Kernel.

The kernel is the heart of the operating system. Amongst it’s responsibilities are ensuring that each running process is given a fair amount of time to execute while a controlling the amount of resources each process can use.

Layer 2: Memory Management.

The name of this layer gives you a good idea what it is all about. It is the responsibility of this layer to share your computers physical memory among the processes which want to use it. It also has to manage such situations where there may not be enough physical memory to share out.

Layer 3: Input/Output.

On this layer all the physical communication between your computers hardware, such as disk drives, keyboards, mouses, screens and so on, takes place.

Layer 4: File Management.

Again the name of this layer may give you a clue as to what it does. It is the job of this layer to control how the files on your computers hard drive are stored and accessed by any application seeking to use them.

Layer 5: The User Interface.

The last element, or layer as we have been calling them, of an operating system is the User Interface. This layer is probably the easiest of all to understand since it is the first thing you see when your operating system has logged you in. It is the job of this layer to provide a means for the user to actually interact with the rest of the layers and as such the system as a whole.

Keep in mind there are two different types of User interfaces. The first one is probably the one you are most familiar with, the graphical user interface, which is where you see windows and icons for each of your files and so on.

The second is a command line interface, or text based interface where a user would interact with the system using text based commands.

Well that is it for this article, if your an experienced IT pro or tech guru, before you go placing comments that I’ve skimmed on certain details please keep in mind that i have deliberately kept this article simple so the people new to computing in general fin dit easier to understand. With that said I hope you enjoyed this article.
